Holistic Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 35-40 hours per week

We combine conventional medical care with holistic, evidence-based therapies to support children’s physical, mental, and emotional health. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or Family Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant with pediatrics experience) who aligns with our values and vision of integrative care.
Job Description: The NP will provide comprehensive healthcare for pediatric patients, utilizing an approach that emphasizes prevention, lifestyle modification, and natural therapies alongside conventional treatments. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care plans for children of all ages, helping to improve long-term health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic, patient-centered comprehensive healthcare to children from infancy through adolescence, including well-child exams, some immunizations, and developmental screenings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate nutrition, lifestyle changes, and conventional medicine as needed
- Educate patients and families on preventive care, wellness strategies, and holistic health
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as nutritionists, lactation consultants, chiropractors, and body work and mental health therapists, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- Stay updated on the latest research in integrative and functional medicine, pediatric healthcare trends, evidence-based practices, and new medical technologies
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions specific to pediatric patients.
- Monitor growth and development, addressing concerns and providing guidance to families.
- Counsel patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and safety.
- Educate caregivers on pediatric conditions, treatment plans, and medication management.
- Address parental concerns and provide emotional support during difficult diagnoses or treatments.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-ups for specialized care, therapy, or other necessary services.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies
- Conduct minor medical procedures such as suture removal, umbilical granuloma cauterization, and administering injections
- Identify social determinants of health impacting patients and connect families with resources as needed
- Mentor and provide guidance to nursing staff and students as applicable
Qualifications:
- Current clean NP/PA license in Arizona
- Board Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or we will consider a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 2 years of pediatrics experience. (The pediatrics experience can pre-date FNP/PA training.)
- Training in integrative medicine, functional medicine, or holistic health is highly desirable but not necessary. A willingness to learn more about this area of medicine is all that is required. New grads are encouraged to apply!
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for patient education and advocacy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with nutritional counseling, lifestyle medicine, or complementary therapies
- Proficiency in use of holistic treatments
- Strong understanding of functional medicine testing and interpretation
- Experience with lactation counseling

Pimri Pediatrics was started in 2020 by Dr. Nicolas Peters, an integrative pediatrician who holds dual licenses by the Arizona Medical Board and the Arizona Board of Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine Examiners. The Mesa office offers general pediatrics services such as well checks, sick visits, newborn visits, and sports and camp physicals. In addition we provide Complex Case Evaluations for children with a variety of medical problems and their families seeking natural, holistic, and evidence-based treatments aimed at reversing the root-cause(s) rather than solely symptom management. Specifically we offer comprehensive solutions for reversing severe eczema, chronic constipation, environmental and food allergies, and PANS/PANDAS.
